Fun!

I like the concept. Very fun. It felt a little rough in terms of polish though.

I disliked how nothing felt solid. Maybe some of the enemies should be solid or hurt you when you touch them. And getting hurt could stun or knock you out of the air so it feels more like getting hurt rather than getting an arbitrary stat reduced.

Regardless, it's still a fun game. Keep making games and getting better!

PS: Do I detect a fan of Spelunky? The art style really reminded me of it.

Fun Game

I liked it. Spamming ranged units works way too well though. Kinda kills the tactical aspect.

Great game, add a skip option or something.

Tone down level 23 or add a skip option.

I went from an average of dying less than once a level to dying around 50 times before rage quitting. Completely killed my fun.

I hate to see great game ideas ruined by poor game flow design. Fix this and you're golden.

Awesome graphics. Needs some work though.

It's a good try but you're probably getting a lot of low scores because of the difficulty.

I thought the different enemies were pretty inspired. They're similar yet different enough to make you change your strategy almost every level.

Here's the problem: It's too damn hard. I stopped playing after the green bubbles. It's not worth my time and frustration to slowly whittle down their health. I don't mean that in a mean way. I'm speaking as part of a large demographic of casual gamers who want to have fun too. If you don't include variable difficulty you're killing your appeal.

Here's what I'd do if I were you. Take a page from Death vs. Monstars' upgrade system. If I can't beat a level. Let me grind a little bit until I can buy power-ups that let me beat future levels.

Hello, thank you for the comments. Yah....it looks like the difficulty curve is a bit too high for the masses, but still....the shooter fans are starting to find the game, and the game scores are starting to average alot higher. I will 100% update the game in a few weeks, taking everyone's suggesting in, etc. The green bubbles is a boss wave and is meant to be a problem. Certain waves will 100% need bombs if you don't want to lose any weapon power ups. ;)

Great Idea and Great Graphics, One Issue

I love the idea and the graphics. My only complaint is how long you have to wait to make the grenade explode. It's annoying when you're fighting enemies and tedious when you're waiting to make a jump.

If "S" would also detonate the existing grenade it would make the game play so much smoother.

So close...

Oh man, this one hurts. Seriously, this could have been a classic. It has that classic old school feel. The puzzles and the fighting are fun. The characters are creative and there's plenty of strange humor.

Now for the problems. I only had two. The final hallway before hotgod and the six star pattern. When you clear out the final hallway it should stay cleared. We're not all going to beat the boss on the first try and it gets tedious (if not impossible using the six star) to clear out repeatedly. As for the six star pattern, it's just not practical. Maybe if you could turn easier or move faster it would work. Otherwise it's just a huge pain until you get the seventh star.

Fun, but change the controls

It's well put together. I like the style, the game play is smooth. But please, for the love of God, include an option to use WASD for directional controls. My laptop is the only computer I use and it's way too awkward. Even with a mouse I'm still using my left hand to hit keys on the right side of the keyboard.

Great but...

I love it, it's a great idea. My only problem is my allies are idiots, there should be some way to direct them as a group. Without it the later levels are just luck.

I love it

I love this game, it's very addictive. Two things though.

1. The aiming felt a little funny. You shouldn't be required to shoot at the middle. Being able to shoot anywhere would add a new level of strategy.

2. You should be able to save your progress. It sucks having to start over from the beginning everytime. Especially when all you're stuck on is one level (like level 12, grr...).

if you hold down the mouse button you can shoot at any angle.
thanks for the review.
